Business plans

Groupwork activity to promote awareness of business planningand enterpreneurship skills

The activity begins by splitting the students in groups of three. The students are asked to discuss what, in their opinion, is a “good business plan” and what is the essence of business enterprise.
The group is to devise a suitable business plan and agree upon it. They should find out what’s “absent” on the market.
They should also allocate the functions they are going to hold in the new company and specify the conditions they have to meet to ensure their company works successfully.
In the next part, the groups present their companies, and the classmates can ask about details regarding the individual companies.
The output of this activity is graphic rendering of the individual groups.

What could have been done differently or is planned for future repeats?

For the most part, the business plans were reasonable and the groups have come to an agreement easily. I tried to split the students into the groups at random as well as in accordance with the students’ wishes – there are pros and cons in both approaches.
