Decorating christmas ginerbread

Activity to enourage patience, awareness of traditions and creativity

The students bring baked gingerbread from home (it is also possible to make gingerbread at school with the students, but this requires much more time, as it is necessary to leave the dough in a fridge overnight). In the school kitchenette, the students split into groups and whip the sugar icing. Then the children are asked to decorate the gingerbread as they wish. The activity can be concluded by announcing the best-decorated gingerbread.

The students really liked the activity, as it was something beyond the usual school activities. The most successful part was the best-decorated gingerbread contest. Everyone wanted to win. We ultimately selected three winners who received a small prize. However, all gingerbreads were lovely, because each student made every effort to make them nice.
