My own place

An exercise for yonger students to consider self awareness and perception

1. Instructions for the activity:
Walk around the room and try to find a place where you feel good in the classroom, but which is not very close to another student. You stand there now, the place is yours. Try to jump in there, dance a little, feel the weight of your body. Sit down and draw a circle with your hand around your place. The place belongs to you, up to wherever you can reach. Try to imagine the floor in your circle changes to something pleasant, like grass or carpet, and it can have any colour you want. You can even build a wall with a window around your place, if you feel like. Now sit back a while and enjoy your place.
When you hear the ring, you should change places with someone else. Borrow your place to someone. How do you like the new place? Which of them suits you more, where do you feel better?
Return to your place.
