War against super bitches

Introduction to a book included in a literary contest organised by Rosteme s knihou (Growing Up With a Book) association

The students were acquainted with a book titled Válka proti superkrávám (orig. Kampen mot superbitchene [War Against Superbitches]) written by Norwegian writer A. Audhild Solberg. The main protagonist is Anne Bea, a seventh-grader who is different from her classmates, because she is an albino with very poor sight. It’s no fun being different in a collective of teenagers.
The students were asked to think whether they had ever encountered hostile behaviour in various children’s groups, provoked by their appearance, behaviour or illness. A very interesting debate began, in which almost all students took part.
In the next part, the students described what needed to be done to cope with the problem, who helped them, how long did it take.
The lesson concluded by choosing the most important qualities of a person one regards as a friend.
